BBQ Cauliflower Tempeh Pizza

Pizza, Pizza, Pizza! I think my favorite kind of pizza is BBQ pizza! This BBQ cauliflower tempeh pizza is amazing and easy to make. If you don’t want to make pizza dough from scratch, you can always buy a pre-made dough. The hummus makes the pizza sauce creamy and rich. This combination makes a delicious meal.

Ingredients

  • SIMPLE PIZZA DOUGH
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • BBQ CAULIFLOWER & TEMPEH
  • 1 head cauliflower
  • 1 package tempeh
  • 3/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • PIZZA SAUCE
  • 1 cup spicy hummus
  • 1/2 cup tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt & pepper
  • GARNISH
  • Ranch
  • Green onions

Instructions

1

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.

2

In a bowl combine all of the pizza dough ingredients and then knead the dough with your hands, add a little sprinkle of flour or water if needed until the dough is firm and smooth.

3

Cover the dough with a kitchen towel and let sit for 20 minutes.

4

While the dough is resting, cut the head of cauliflower into florets and cut the tempeh into cubes.

5

In a small bowl, combine BBQ sauce and garlic.

6

In a medium bowl, add the cauliflower and pour half of the BBQ sauce over the cauliflower and toss to coat. Add the cauliflower to a parchment lined baking sheet.

7

In the same bowl, add the cubed tempeh and pour the remaining BBQ sauce and toss to coat. Add the tempeh to the same baking sheet.

8

Bake the cauliflower and tempeh for 20-25 minutes, flipping once half way.

9

While the cauliflower and tempeh are baking, make the pizza sauce. Combine all of the pizza sauce ingredients and set aside.

10

Lightly coat a clean surface with flour and divide the dough in half. Using a rolling pin, roll the dough into any desired shape, either a circle or rectangle. Continue to lightly flour your surface to avoid your dough to about 1-2 inch thin.

11

Transfer the rolled out pizza doughs to a lined baking sheet and spread an even layer of pizza sauce and top with the baking cauliflower and tempeh.

12

Bake the pizza for 30-40 minutes or until the crust is lightly golden.

13

When the pizzas are ready, drizzle with some ranch and sprinkle over sliced green onions. Enjoy!
